Get ’em, Shane! Hahahaha!

A lot of the golfers who played early in the day at Oakmont during Thursday’s first round put up good scores. It was quite incredible how a lot of players were able to place themselves into the red early on. With that being said, Shane Lowry wasn’t one of those golfers.

Lowry was playing with Justin Rose and Rory McIlroy, but instead of being conformable with his Ryder Cup teammates, poor play appeared to have him dreading his 13th appearance in the U.S. Open. (RELATED: Maxwell Moldovan Starts US Open With Absolutely Incredible Opening Eagle Shot)

Kicking off his first round while on the back nine, Lowry made a Par 5 12th bogey that left him disappointed. From there, he was flowing nice, that was until he got to the long Par 3 16th hole. Lowry missed a putt that would have been a five-foot bogey, resulting in him having to settle for a double bogey.

On the Par 4 17th, it was a good opportunity for Lowry to get his game back into gear, and it looked like he was after he knocked his teeshot only 45 yards away from the cup.

But, simply put, Oakmont has a rough that is thick, and with this being the case, Lowry only pushed his ball forward by 17 feet with a chip shot. Frustrated at what was going on, he decided to let off some team by grabbing a microphone that was located beside him and then slinging it in fury, according to footage of the incident.

Golf — it’s just one of those games.
