If you ask Democratic Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin about it, he’ll tell you that transgenders being in women’s sports (college in particular) isn’t a problem whatsoever because there’s only a few of them at play. Forget the several women who have seen their dreams crushed because of biological men, there’s only a small amount of them so it’s not relevant. This is Durbin’s ridiculous mindset.
Recently, lawmakers had the chance to address NCAA President Charlie Baker with him being in Washington, D.C., for a hearing, and Durbin was one of the politicians present. When Durbin had his opportunity, he questioned Baker about how many athletes are in the NCAA and how many of them are transgender. Baker went on to answer the question by saying there’s 510,000 athletes that participate in college sports, and out of that number, less than 10 of them are trans.
Durbin then responds by showing a Twitter post that tells everybody to just straight up ignore transgenders competing in female sports because the numbers aren’t there for a true impact. He went on to say that we should look for ways to “actually improve women’s sports,” slashing all respect for any woman who had to deal with a biological male in competition and also forced to share a locker room with one.
