College football is serious business — Ted and JD know!

The Cotton Bowl, a College Football Playoff semifinal game, is coming at us this Friday with a powerhouse matchup between Ohio State and Texas in Arlington. In fact, the game has so much hype involved with it that two high-profile Republicans are getting in on the action by slapping a bet against each other.

It all started with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), who instantly brought JD Vance into the picture. Ya know, the next Vice President of the United States. And JD was all for some fun! After all, this is Buckeyes-Longhorns! (RELATED: Notre Dame’s Charles Du Inks NIL Deal With Antonio Brown After AB Called Him ‘Chink’)

Wanting to spark up something between the two, Cruz made his loyalty to Texas known and issued a challenge to Vance and his alma mater OSU.

In a tweet Tuesday, Cruz offered a friendly wager.

“Hey @JDVance — care for a wager on the UT-Ohio State game? Loser brings beer & food from his home state & delivers it wearing the winning jersey. #HookEm,” wrote Cruz.

JD, being a fighter himself, was all for it.

“Alright which Texas ice cream should I have Ted bring when the Buckeyes win?” responded Vance in just a few minutes. “To be clear, @tedcruz, you’re on!”

And just like that, the Cotton Bowl got a lot more entertaining! Let’s get it!
