The 2025 Grammy Awards were held Feb. 2 and their mission was evidently to shove their message of inclusiveness down our throats.
The Weeknd stunned fans by ending his yearslong boycott of the Grammy Awards and making a surprise appearance at the show. The artist publicly dragged The Recording Academy, calling them “corrupt” and calling them out for their lack of transparency. The Academy’s CEO, Harvey Mason Jr., took the stage Sunday and made a speech declaring he had modernized the voting system, added more than 3,000 voting members. The Weeknd then proceeded to perform his new song “Cry For Me,” at the 67th Grammy Awards. This was just one of the many moments that put thespotlight on the woke culture and ‘inclusiveness’ embraced by the academy.
Seemingly determined to silence every artist that whined about not winning, the Grammys handed an award to Beyonce, and it was a big one. The artist took home the hardware for the Best Country Album, for “Texas Hold ‘Em,” beating out true country stars that were deserving of the award. Keeping their best interests at heart, The Grammy Awards decided Beyonce was more deserving than Post Malone, Kacey Musgraves, Chris Stapleton, and Lainey Wilson. It’s a cold day in hell when Beyonce wins in the country category, and it couldn’t be clearer that this win has nothing to do with talent. I have a hunch it may have something to do with their mission to “right their wrongs” this year. For those that may have forgotten, Beyonce’s husband, Jay-Z, blasted the academy for not giving his wife the top award just last year. Beyonce was back on the stage at the end of the night again, to take the win for the Best Album of the Year.
The Grammys couldn’t have driven their message of inclusiveness home without putting the focus on the LGBTQ+ community, so of course, they made sure Chappell Roan won an award. They gave the artist the stage to perform “Pink Pony Club,” and she went on to win the Grammy for Best New Artist. Roan used her platform to call out record labels. “If my label would have prioritized artists health I could’ve been provided care by the company I was giving everything to,” she said. “So record labels need to treat their artists as valuable employees with a livable wage and health insurance and protections.” She closed off by saying, “labels we got you, but do you got us?”
There’s no greater example of the Grammys’ agenda and their willingness to bend at the knees, than their attempt at reviving Will Smith’s career. Demonstrating their “everyone deserves a chance” mentality, the show gave Smith far too much air time at a show that he shouldn’t have been invited to at all. Nobody will ever forget that he lost control and slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars. At least that award show stuck to their guns and banned the weirdo from attending their ceremonies. The Grammy Awards must have far lower standards, because they entrusted Smith with the tribute to Quincy Jones, much to the dismay of many internet users who expressed their discontent.(RELATED: Police Reportedly Escort Kanye West And Bianca Censori Out Of Grammys After Shocking Moment)
Award shows have been losing their touch for a while, but this year’s over-accommodations in the name of “inclusiveness” really put them over the edge.
