The Grammys Just Put The Final Nail In Their Own Coffin

The Grammy Awards are a dying awards show to begin with, but they solidified their demise by announcing Trevor Noah as this year’s host.

They announced their terrible decision Jan. 21, leaving fans with about two weeks to make alternate plans before the awards show airs, Feb. 2. It’s unclear why the powers-that-be decided to give Noah another round at hosting the 2025 Grammy’s, especially considering this will be his fifth consecutive time. They’re either too lazy to make a change, or indifferent to the fact that the washed-up comedian has already bored the shit out of everyone for the past four years.

It’s too painful to imagine being exposed to two-plus hours of Noah’s lame jokes and weak delivery.

I’ll put it out there right now and help the guy out — the Diddy jokes are getting old, and poking at the Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively lawsuit is off-limits, unless he wants to cancel himself swiftly — in which case, please — go ahead. My guess is Noah will tell us that Hollywood is on fire and will predict that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will get engaged soon.  All of this is just one eye-roll away from the remote control and a channel switch.

The ratings on all these awards shows have been dismal for years, and nobody is doing anything to shake things up and attract an audience. Kudos to the Grammys for repeating their four-year mistake — that’s sure to seal the deal on more viewership.

The awards show is broadcast live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on CBS, for those who may find some enjoyment in watching Noah fail on live television.

Those who are as “over” him as I am — you should probably know he’s also a producer on this year’s show, as well as a nominee. (RELATED: Here Are The 10 Most ‘Holy Sh*t!’ Moments From The Grammy Awards)

Beyoncé has the most nods going into the program. “Cowboy Carter” is up for album and country album of the year, and “Texas Hold ’Em” is nominated for record, song and country song of the year. Post Malone has seven nominations, tied with Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar and Charli XCX.

The Noah overdose is looming. Will you be watching this trainwreck?
