“My daughter’s NYC public-school teacher supports Trump,” writes one distraught mom.
Not content to just groan about her political derangements to like-minded friends, this woman actually took the effort to write into The Cut’s advice column seeking professional guidance. Good thing the columnist is just as insane as her.
Apparently, this mom’s 14-year old came home from school appalled — appalled — that her English teacher made the class watch Donald Trump’s “acceptance speech” and “take notes on ‘his values.’” Of course, a child doesn’t just become a hyper-political drone on her own, so the mom predictably freaked out as well. She’s “personally exhausted” from this “divisive election” and now “can’t believe” she has to deal with this too!
Poor woman. She just doesn’t have the energy to file an official complaint with the school district, despite knowing it’s the right thing to do.
Thankfully, this harpy at The Cut is here to egg her on. “None of that has anything to do with teaching English,” the advice columnist writes. “It all amounts to what I’d consider to be — and this is how I’d put it to the school’s administration — a breach of trust.”
“Now it’s on the administration to find a way to reestablish trust between their teachers and students. The way they choose to do that is up to them.”
I’m sorry, what?
First off, there’s nothing wrong with this assignment. Trump’s the incoming President of the United States; it’s perfectly acceptable to have a grade school English class analyze the themes of his victory speech. These ladies certainly wouldn’t be balking if the assignment was on a President-elect Harris.
That’s because bias in the classroom isn’t the issue here. They’re not mad there’s bias. They’re mad there’s not over bias to their side. Remember, these people support a Party that suggests conservative parents are domestic terrorists if they try to find out what’s being taught in their child’s classroom — and push for the full weight of federal law enforcement to back it up. No, I won’t be lectured on “breach of trust” in the classroom from urban lefty Democrats, the same people who think teachers should teach racist communism and graphic pornography to grade schoolers, all while gender-transitioning them behind their parents’ backs.
So good on this teacher, whether she’s MAGA or not. At least you know her class will learn something they certainly won’t learn at home.
