Michigan Republican Tudor Dixon suggested Susie Wiles’s lack of experience in Washington should be seen as an asset instead of a hindrance as she is not indebted to any local bureaucrats.

Dixon, a former gubernatorial candidate for Michigan, praised Trump for his “historic pick” in selecting Wiles as his next White House chief of staff, calling Wiles a “perfect combination of talent and toughness.” Wiles also advised Dixon on her 2022 bid for Michigan’s gubernatorial race, with Dixon calling it “a blessing” that Wiles has not had people in “the swamp” attempting to sway her.

“She’s going to go in there, and they’re afraid of her,” Dixon said on Fox News’s Fox & Friends First. “That’s the best part about this. This is a woman who just ran a Fortune 500 company overnight, and she was incredibly successful at it. This is the best-case scenario for the United States of America. We don’t want someone going in there that has already made deals with people, that and loyalties to people. Susie Wiles is going in there for the American people, and that’s the most exciting news I could ever possibly hear about this administration.”

Dixon added that Wiles’s selection is the first of the “amazing team” that Trump is forming in his administration, which she predicted will be “the most historic administration” in the nation’s history. She cited her own personal experience with Wiles, stating she is “always available” to help whoever she is working with and determine the best course of action needed.

Wiles is the daughter of famed football player and broadcaster Pat Summerall, and her selection by Trump for his White House chief of staff follows an already successful career within the Republican Party. Previously, she helmed the 2010 Florida gubernatorial campaign for Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) and Trump’s Florida operation during the 2016 general election.

Beyond this, Wiles also assisted her late father in overcoming his alcohol addiction, which he detailed in his autobiography in 2006. Wiles’s intervention, along with his conversion to Christianity, helped him overcome the addiction that had plagued his career as a broadcaster, in which he often co-hosted with fellow broadcasting icon John Madden.

Following Trump’s win against Vice President Kamala Harris, Dixon congratulated both Trump on his victory as well as Wiles’s selection as the White House chief of staff. Since losing the gubernatorial race in 2022, Dixon has kept herself busy by hosting The Tudor Dixon Podcast.

Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND) has also praised Trump’s choice of Wiles, calling her a “fantastic choice.” He contended that the reaction to Trump’s victory is much different from the outcome of the 2016 election as, this time, people are “banging on the door” to get a role in the Trump White House.
