Nice! Common sense is starting to win across the pond!
A little over a couple of weeks ago, two men participated in a women’s Ultimate Pool championship match. Lucy Smith and Harriet Haynes, the finalists of the event, are men who “identify” as females and “won” the same amount of prize money as the 14 women competitors they “beat” combined.
But thank the good Lord, we won’t have to worry about that nonsense again, because Ultimate Pool made the move Wednesday to update their policies when it comes to transgender athletes.
“With effect from 23rd April 2025 trans women will not be eligible to participate in the women’s series nor will trans women be eligible to be selected for international events in the female category.”
Ultimate Pool states that they used an “experts report” to make the determination if their sport is a “gender affected sport.” (RELATED: Pro-Woman Advocates Blast Nike After They Allegedly Fund Study For Puberty-Blockers)
“The clear conclusion of the biological and cue sports expert who jointly authored the report was that eightball pool was a gender affected sport and that in cue sports female players have unique disadvantages compared to male players and that transgender women retain male advantages.”
The organization cited the move that the Supreme Court in the United Kingdom recently made to give a definition to “woman.”
“In this judgment the Supreme Court ruled that a Gender Recognition Certificate does not change a person’s legal sex for the purposes of the Equality Act 2010,” states the updated Ultimate Pool guidelines.
“The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) chairwoman Baroness Kishwer Falkner has confirmed that the ruling has brought clarity and that trans women cannot take part in women’s sport and that the EHRC would pursue organisations which do not update their policies. UPG welcomes the clarity which this judgment brings.”
