This is not the kind of “Purple Rain” that Vikings fans were looking for.

The Minnesota Vikings rallied for a win Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but they had to get it done without their star running back, Aaron Jones.

During the third quarter, Jones exited the contest after he was sandwiched to smithereens while running the ball. Taking a hit to his midsection, Jones was evaluated on the sideline prior to being taken back to the locker room on a cart, which happened later in the fourth quarter. Jones was eventually diagnosed with an injury to his chest; however, he eventually made his return with only a minute remaining in the game after being listed as “questionable.”

Following Jones leaving the game, Minnesota was able to knock in a field goal, which came before Jones’s cart ride. At that moment in the third quarter, the Jags’ advantage was cut down to 7-6.

The Vikings went on to reign victorious, 12-7.

The Jags got the win by the skin of their teeth and, with Aaron Jones managing to make it back into the game, this very well may be one of the luckiest Sundays ever for Vikings fans.
