The Golden State Warriors are in “serious pursuit” of Brooklyn Nets guard Dennis Schröder, according to a report from ESPN on Saturday.

Schröder, 31, is in the midst of a bounce-back season with the Nets, averaging 18.4 points, 6.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game in 23 starts this season. He would bolster the back court of a Warriors team that is back in the title conversation this season with a record of 14-10, good enough for the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference.

The Nets acquired Schröder in a trade with the Toronto Raptors in February. Schröder signed a two-year, $25.4 million contract with Toronto in 2023 that will expire this summer.

The unofficial start to the NBA’s trade season is Sunday, Dec. 15, when a majority of players who signed contracts last summer will become trade eligible. The NBA trade deadline is on Feb. 6.
