People in the media take themselves way too seriously.
According to a report from OutKick, the NFL’s security department has launched an investigation into a heated in-person confrontation between two NFL insiders. The reporters got into the verbal spat after having the same story, but two different versions.
The tension between NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz kicked off Wednesday afternoon when the two got into a back-and-forth on social media — Twitter, to be exact. Schultz reported that Las Vegas Raiders minority owner Tom Brady had a meeting with Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford at his Montana home, and that the two went skiing. Afterward, Rapoport then issued his own report, saying that the entire thing wasn’t planned and didn’t have anything to do with Brady recruiting Stafford to Sin City.
That’s what set off the fireworks between the two.

Well, things have escalated, ladies and gentlemen.
The two ended up seeing each other in person while both were at Starbucks in the JW Marriott Hotel, basically a headquarters for people within the NFL who are in attendance for the league’s combine. This reportedly led to an irritated Schultz confronting Rapoport.
According to a report from Pro Football Talk, Schultz told Rapoport that the two needed to have a conversation, with Rapoport responding that there wasn’t anything to talk about. Schultz was reportedly angry that Rapoport didn’t speak with him before the contradiction of his Brady-Stafford report.
From there, things escalated even further, to the point where Rapoport (technically an NFL employee) felt enough concern to call NFL Security on Schultz. NFL Security responded by launching an investigation that features witness statements. Yeah, really.
