Will Smith Returns To The Award Show Circuit Much To Our Dismay

The 2025 Grammy Awards screwed up royally by inviting Will Smith to the show at the Crypto.com Arena Feb. 2.

Smith was effectively canceled the last time he showed up at an award show and decided to make his way to the stage to slap Chris Rock across the face. Why is he back again? Even more shocking is the fact that Smith didn’t just attend, he was handed a microphone and given the honor of paying tribute to Quincy Jones. He shared personal stories on stage, and was all-smiles, acting like he was rightfully back in the spotlight. The internet had strong opinions – we thought we were rid of this guy, how is he still here?

Smith hasn’t attended a major award show in nearly three years, and is still banned form The Oscars.

Just because he’s making music again, doesn’t mean he deserves to be back at these shows – and it certainly doesn’t mean the world is ready to welcome him back.

Social media is buzzing with people wishing the Grammys didn’t force Smith down our their throats when they were doing just fine without him.(RELATED: Will Smith Attempts Comeback With New Release)

The memes are plentiful, and the verdict is in – Smith may have gotten a seat at an award show, but that doesn’t change the fact that his cancelation still stands.
